The type of Mongolia eVisa you should choose depends on your purpose of visit:
If you're unsure which visa type is appropriate for your situation, please contact our customer support team for guidance.
Tourism and Sport/Cultural Events eVisas can be extended after arrival in Mongolia through the Immigration Agency of Mongolia. The extension process must be initiated before your current visa expires.
Transit eVisas cannot be extended. If you need to stay longer than the 10-day maximum period, you should apply for a Tourism eVisa instead.
For visa extensions, you'll need to visit the Immigration Agency office in Ulaanbaatar with your passport, current visa, and supporting documents justifying the extension request.
Visa validity refers to the period during which you can enter Mongolia. All Mongolia eVisas are valid for 150 days from the issue date, meaning you must enter Mongolia within this 150-day window.
Maximum stay refers to how long you can remain in Mongolia after entry. This varies by visa type:
For example, if you receive a Tourism eVisa on January 1, 2025, you can enter Mongolia any time until May 30, 2025 (150 days later). Once you enter, you can stay for up to 30 consecutive days.
Changing your visa type after arriving in Mongolia is generally not possible. You should apply for the appropriate visa type before traveling to Mongolia.
If your travel plans change while you're in Mongolia, you may need to exit the country and apply for a new visa with the correct type. In some exceptional cases, the Immigration Agency of Mongolia may allow visa type changes, but this is at their discretion and not guaranteed.
We recommend carefully considering your travel purpose and selecting the appropriate visa type during your initial application.
Overstaying your visa in Mongolia can result in serious consequences, including:
If you realize you need to stay longer than your visa allows, you should apply for an extension before your visa expires. If extension is not possible, you should make arrangements to leave Mongolia before your authorized stay period ends.
